The superb Bootleg Blondie tribute act will be our Friday headliner for the upcoming UK Autumn Motorhome & Caravan Show at Newark. Bootleg Blondie is the only Deborah Harry tribute to have played the legendary CBGB in New York – the holy grail of American punk and new wave where the real Blondie first started her career. And so, to celebrate the fact, we thought we’d share this brilliant video we found of her in action! Just click it to see the whole thing… Also appearing on Friday, September 2 is comedian Jed Stone – a TV and radio regular who, in the past, has appeared on My Kinda People with Michael Barrymore and Pot of Gold with Des O’Connor. On to Saturday, and the Amazing Drifters Tribute Act will take centre stage, along with side-splitting funnyman Tucker. Both nights open and close with The Vibes playing hits from rock, pop, disco, soul, funk, Motown, indie… well, you name it, they play it… and there will also be live music in an alternative evening entertainment venue. Put your reversing skills to the test at the Newark Show

Posted by on Jul 27, 2016

A SPECIALLY created trailer reversing competition will run at our Autumn show this September 3-4, putting visitors through their paces with a series of challenges. Participants will need to exit a garage, reverse around a roundabout and then head back to the starting point negotiating a cone and a 90-degree blindside turn in the process. The attraction is being run by the team at Access-Your-Future, and managing director Chris Jones said: “The manoeuvre can be achieved in one go without any shunts, but it’s not easy. Our instructor and I have had many attempts while devising the course and we have both only managed it in one take on one occasion!” A scoring system will be in place to determine the winner: every driver starts on zero; a forward shunt incurs a 10-point penalty; touching a barrier or cone incurs a five-point penalty; and if the contestant has to shunt more than three times that will be the end of their attempt. Final points will be added for parking the vehicle straight in the garage and getting the rear of the trailer into the parking zone as would be required in the DVSA trailer towing test. Each winner will receive a bottle of wine, and Access-Your-Future will also be offering a free half-day towing assessment for three participants who need to pass their B&E towing licence. The challenge is part of the daytime entertainment line-up at the UK Autumn Motorhome & Caravan Show at Newark Showground which takes place across the first weekend in September. Live music will also be performed throughout the weekend, kids’ activities – including a bouncy castle – will be running, and campers can enjoy cash-prize bingo and dancing lessons. Advance discount tickets for both campers and day visitors are on sale now; for more details visit the EVENT PAGE and follow the links or call 01507...

Posted by on Jun 10, 2016

A BUMPER crowd of campers and day visitors packed into the UK Summer Motorhome & Caravan Show this past weekend for two days and nights of show action and thrilling live entertainment. Taking place at Maidstone’s Kent Event Centre on June 4-5, 2016, the main show attracted traders of leisure vehicles and related products from across the UK and many reported hugely successful sales weekends. Camper Life Outdoor Products’ Leon Dolan said: “We had a great few days’ trading, especially on Saturday, and we’re delighted with the results considering we’ve travelled all the way from Teeside to attend. “As a new start-up business with new products – multi-scented cleaning fluids and other outdoor items – it’s vital we spread the word about our range and we couldn’t have chosen a better way to do so than a visit to this Kent event.” John Cross Motorhomes’ Richard Molyneux added: “The UK Summer Motorhome & Caravan Show at Detling is ideally located for us and the weekend was a great success. “Our team was able to get out and meet many new and existing customers, helping them with their technical queries as well as show our selection of quality Fiamma products. It was superb to see so many enthusiasts getting out in their leisure vehicles to enjoy the weather.” Arriving on Friday, June 3, weekend campers were treated to two incredible nights of evening entertainment from internationally renowned Michael Jackson Tribute Navi and 1950s rock ’n’ roll legend Marty Wilde. The pair headlined Friday and Saturday nights respectively, and entertainment coordinator Rachel Hippey said: “What a weekend! Both Navi and Marty Wilde were superb and we’re delighted to have been able to give our campers the opportunity to see these two breath-taking acts. The packed crowd really were given a treat.” Along with the line-up on stage, campers enjoyed activities in the daytimes such as cash-prize bingo, line dancing lessons and bus trips to nearby Rochester. Attention for the organising team now turns to the UK Autumn Motorhome & Caravan Show at Newark Showground on September...
