A swinging 60s Weekender for our Spring show
IT was the decade that gave us some of the greatest music and musicians to ever grace the charts, and at the upcoming UK Spring Motorhome & Caravan Show two nights of evening entertainment will celebrate the sensational 1960s.
Hundreds of campers at the Newark Showground event will be treated to a jam-packed line-up of star performers, culminating on Saturday night with the Paul Da Vinci’s 60s/70s Explosion – an incredible all-round act featuring major hits from Motown, swing, rock and pop.
Paul – who was actually the original voice on The Rubettes’ worldwide number one hit Sugar Baby Love – will follow The New Honeycombs as they take visitors on a trip down memory lane with hits both from the original group and many more 60s classics.
The opening night is just as star-studded, beginning with Baby Love – a show dedicated to Tamla Motown and featuring songs made famous by the likes of The Supremes, The Four Tops and Martha & The Vandellas – followed by The Ragdolls, Europe’s number one tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
Both evenings also feature side-splitting comedy from Midlands Entertainer of the Year Zak Stevens on Friday, and the eccentric Arnold Gutbucket on Saturday.
The main trade show runs on Saturday and Sunday, March 18-19, with visitors coming in their droves to browse the bargains on offer from hundreds of stands and stalls including dealers of motorhomes, caravans and camper vans.
New for 2017, campers can arrive on-site from Thursday, March 16, and stay through until the Monday morning – that’s four nights for as little as £45. Along with the 60s Weekender evening entertainment, there are new added extras such as a hog roast on Thursday night and a quiz on Sunday.
During Friday daytime a special coach trip into the heart of historic Lincoln will be running for just £5 per person and, during the weekend show, campers can enjoy all the same benefits as day visitors plus exclusive cash-prize bingo and dance classes.
